I thought most problematic reliability issues with that engine were ironed out some time in the 70s.

I think that at the time the usual cure was to fit a Ford V4 (because you could). Nowadays of course an RO80 is worth more with the original engine.

70 model year if I remember correctly. With those miles it is a crapshoot as to whether it is an upgraded engine or if it still had the old rotor tips in it, and nothing is said about it.

True, but my point is that NSU solved the problems and these cars shouldn't be nearly as unreliable as they were in their early years.

Mine was Mustardish Orange/Yellow with Baby poop brown interior.

I saw one parked in front of a hotel a few years ago. It was exactly the same color green, if I recall correctly. It was in the Netherlands, but the car had German plates.
